Dear Birthparent(s),

We are Zach and Karen, thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us and for considering us as adoptive parents for your soon to be born baby. We realize that your decision to create an adoption plan is one made out of the unconditional love you have for your baby.

About Us:
We met in our college choir, and quickly became inseparable.  After being best friends for about three years, we finally started dating.  Three months later, Zach proposed in front of our whole choir, and after a year’s engagement we were married.  We began our adoption journey when we found out that, because of a childhood cancer, Karen cannot have children.  We’d always had a heart for adoption, and felt God’s leading in that direction.  Now, the farther we get into this process, the more excited we are to start our family through adoption!

After graduating from the community college with an Associate of Science degree, Zach went on to a university and completed his Doctorate in Pharmacy, and is now a licensed pharmacist.  Karen currently is a homemaker and plans to be a stay-at-home mom.

We are both from loving Christian families; Zach grew up in Nebraska, the oldest of two, and Karen grew up in Wyoming, the third of four children.  Our families still live close by, and we enjoy visits with them often for holidays, birthdays, vacations or many times just on a whim.  We have five nieces and one nephew, and though we have no children of our own, we’ve had lots of experience in babysitting!  Our families are 100% supportive of our adoption decision, and are almost as excited about it as we are.

We enjoy going to the theatre, the zoo, parks and museums, playing games with family and friends, or just staying home watching movies.  Karen enjoys crafts such as scrapbooking and quilting, and we both play piano and sing.  We have a mini-dachshund, Whitney, who loves playing fetch.

About Zach by Karen
Zach is about the easiest guy to get along with; he is smart, funny, supportive and dependable. He is also a hard worker, earning his Doctorate in Pharmacy, and I am so proud of him!  He is my best friend, and I can’t imagine life without him by my side!

Zach also has an awesome singing voice and was in a Barbershop group during college. He now enjoys being a part of a local Barbershop group in town.  Zach also enjoys playing video games, hiking, and spending time with family.

Life with Zach is always fun.  Without him, I probably wouldn’t know the difference between the Avengers and the Justice League, anything about Doctor Who, or that Anime can be enjoyable.

I knew Zach would be a good daddy the first time I saw him pick up a baby, and I love watching him play with our nieces and nephew.  He connects easily with children and they love him for it.

Most of all, Zach has a good heart. He loves God, and he loves his family.  When I was a kid, I remember making a list of requirements for my future husband and, while he doesn’t own a white horse or a suit of armor, Zach is still everything I ever wanted, and I am so thankful that God brought him into my life.

About Karen by Zach
I knew Karen was the girl for me from the first day I met her.  She is fun, outgoing, warm, and has a great sense of humor.   We both have a passion for music, and that passion was what caused us to meet each other via our college choir.  One of the things I love most about Karen is how creative she is.  She is a talented scrap booker, and has recently found a passion for quilting.

Karen has unfortunately exposed me to Twilight and Sense and Sensibility, but has also introduced me to musicals and old movies, which we both enjoy.

Karen is great with kids, and she babysits our nephew and nieces whenever asked.  Karen’s playful nature and inner child really shine through whenever she is babysitting, and the kids love it.

Karen truly is an inspiration to me and those around her.  As a child, she fought a very difficult battle with cancer.  Although she is completely recovered physically, I honestly would have expected emotional scars to run deep.  However, you would never know it if you met her.  She has a wonderful disposition, and has a strong faith in God.  She knows God got her through her cancer, and her courage and joy is founded in His love and grace.

Thank you again for reading our profile. Though we’ve not met, we have been praying for you daily in this difficult decision.  We promise to provide your baby a loving home, surrounded by family and friends and to give him/her the tools needed to become the great person you know they can be.
