Hello expectant family!

We are so excited to share a bit more about our lives with you and hope that this helps you get to know who we are a little better.  The thought of expanding our family is an exciting one and we can’t wait to meet the people who will become a part of our

Isaac was born in Helena, Montana and that is where he spent his life through high school. He is the youngest of 7 children. After he graduated from High School he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in England for 3 years. After his enlistment in the Air Force was complete he moved back to Montana, although this time to Bozeman, to attend Montana State University. He graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2009.

Nonna was born in Seward, Nebraska and has one older brother. Like Isaac, she stayed in her home state through high school.  After high school, her job offered her a position in Dallas, Texas. Seeing an opportunity for her first big adventure as an adult she took it. After 2 great years of sun, sweet tea and BBQ she was transferred back to Nebraska where she stayed until she married Isaac.

We have had the privilege of being married for 7 years now, and we would definitely say that we love each other now even more than we did when we got married. We were each lucky enough to marry our best friend.

We met at a church gathering in 2007 when Isaac was helping his brother Fred move to Nebraska. Nonna’s parents were going to the church where Fred had just been hired on as the pastor. After our initial meeting we began talking, but Isaac was still in college in Montana so we were in a long distance relationship. Long (and very romantic) story short, we were married in May 2008 and then moved to Montana so that Isaac could finish his last year of college. After his graduation we moved to Washington where Isaac took a position as an engineer at a shipyard.

In 2016 we were blessed to adopt our first child, Parker. He is an energetic little Hispanic boy and we love him dearly. We were blessed to adopt him as a newborn and have had an amazing time experiencing parenthood for the first time. We are excited for God to grow our family further and can’t wait to see who He will bring us next!

Isaac’s job involves some off site assignments so we have been blessed to travel many times to Japan and also San Diego. We always travel together which has been a wonderful treat! We have been able to share many wonderful experiences together. We are “kids at heart” and we love to see it all! Theme parks, kitschy tourist sites, museums, new restaurants, sumo wrestling tournaments, swimming with sharks, you name it! As long as it’s legal (and not too life threatening) we will give it a shot at least once. We are always on the lookout for new things to explore and experience and we love to share these adventures with Parker.

At home in Washington we live in a quiet neighborhood in a modest home. We have a fenced in back yard and a large park right across the street.  We share our home with our sweet dog Achilles (he is a Bouvier des Flandres), and our 2 quirky kitty cats. Nonna is a huge animal lover. If she had her way we might be living in a zoo! When we want a to enjoy a quiet evening at home we love to watch movies and play board games.

Isaac’s hobbies include landscaping, home improvement projects, any handyman job he can get his hands on, kayaking and he also loves Seattle Sounders soccer. Nonna likes to spend her time doing triathlons, being creative (sewing, & knitting are her favorites), reading books, cooking, swimming, and shopping. She is also a self-proclaimed “nerd” who likes Sci-fi, video games, and comic books.

Being active in our local church and our faith in God is a very important part of our lives. We believe that the bible is the infallible Word of God and we try to live our lives according to scripture. We plan to raise our children in the wisdom of God’s Word and the knowledge of Jesus Christ. More than anything we want our home to be a place of reliance on God, love, laughter, and adventure tempered with a touch of tough love and discipline when needed. We try to take life one day at a time and make the most out of our time together on this earth and we want to share that philosophy with our children.

Three important things we would like to make sure you take away from this letter:

 - Firstly, we believe that God is in control of the growth of our family and we know beyond any doubt that whichever child we are blessed with is meant to be a part of our family and will be loved and treasured immeasurably.

 - Secondly, we are excited to make the birth family of this child a part of our extended family and want them to know we love and respect them.

 - And Lastly, we welcome with open arms a child of any ethnicity or background (in fact we would love to have all the colors of the rainbow! ;-) ) and would find      the joy of learning about our child’s unique heritage and culture to be an exciting adventure in itself.

Hopefully this letter has helped you to better understand who we are and what life with us would be like.

Thank you for taking the time to read this!
